Cambria airdrop: the Loot Chest claim closed August 5 and RSGP launches on Base with no date. Open claimed chests within 14 days. The history-based lesson.
Cambria paid people for the wallet they already had. That is the airdrop model that actually works.
Update (October 2026): the Loot Chest claim window closed on August 5, 2026. RSGP has not launched yet; it is confirmed for Base via Aerodrome with no official date. If you claimed chests, they open at launch and must be opened within 14 days. The practical steps are in the Cambria airdrop guide . This piece is about the lesson, which outlives the deadline.
There are two kinds of airdrops. One asks you to start doing something new and hope it pays. The other looks at what you already did and rewards it. Cambria's Loot Chest drop was the second kind. I am not a gamer, I had never played Cambria, and I still had a shot at chests on day one, because the portal was reading my wallet, not my gameplay. Lobby, via my invite: .
My take: the claim is closed, so the only thing left to act on is the launch. If I had claimed chests, the 14-day opening window after RSGP launches is the deadline I would not miss. Where I'd be careful is any page calling itself a Cambria claim today, because there is no claim to make. Why I keep watching it: a drop that read wallet history instead of rewarding a grind is the model I want more projects to copy.
Why "reward the history" is the smarter drop
A game could hand its token to whoever shows up for a two-week campaign. It would get a spike of mercenary wallets that vanish after the claim. Cambria went the other way: chests went to people "who stuck around in the bear market," and the count was based on holdings and activity over the past year. That selects for sticky users instead of farmers, which is exactly who a project wants holding its token.
For you, it meant the work was already done. A Hyperliquid wallet I trade from was the first one I connected. Our testing suggested Hyperliquid activity, staked HYPE and holding PENGU all counted. Behaviour you did for its own reasons became the qualification. That is the healthiest kind of airdrop: you were never farming, you were just living on-chain, and it paid.
The link-every-wallet lesson
The portal said it plainly: it scores each wallet you link to work out your chests. It took EVM wallets with activity on Base, Blast and Abstract, plus Solana. A linked wallet could not be unlinked, and it would not accept the same wallet twice.
The drop does not see "you." It sees wallets, and each wallet is a separate record. So the person who links one wallet claims a fraction of what the person who links five claims: same human, very different outcome. Your eligible footprint is the union of all your wallets, and any wallet you forget is history you forfeit. Cambria's window has closed, but the next retroactive drop will read wallets the same way. Keep a list of yours, with the chains each one is active on.
What changed after the claim
The story did not end on August 5. RSGP was meant to launch in August and slipped. Cambria has since confirmed Base via Aerodrome as the launch venue, still with no official date, and its paid Charter NFTs sold out on October 8. The chests people claimed are still sealed until launch, then there is a 14-day window to open them. Retroactive drops reward history, but they also punish inattention twice: once at the claim, once at the open.
One footprint, many drops
If Hyperliquid activity and staked HYPE feed a game's airdrop, your Hyperliquid footprint is doing more than one job. It farms the Hyperliquid ecosystem itself, and it spills over into unrelated drops like Cambria's. That is the whole thesis of modern airdrop hunting: build one genuine, active footprint, and let many programs read it. You are not farming Cambria. Cambria read a footprint you built for other reasons.
The founder lens
For a builder, Cambria is a lesson in acquisition through recognition. Instead of buying users with a generic incentive, it found people who had already shown commitment on-chain and rewarded exactly them. That is cheaper and higher quality than paying for attention, because it targets proven behaviour. Any product launching a token, or just a community, should ask Cambria's question first: who has already shown they belong here, and how do I reward them specifically?
If this makes you see a community whose real contributors go unrewarded, or a better way to read on-chain reputation across all of someone's wallets, that is a company. build.airdropsea.app is how you ship the first version, and ceoism is the path from hunter to founder.
