Payy is halted after a bridge exploit. Do not deposit.
As of October 2026, Payy Network is halted. On September 24, 2026 its Ethereum bridge contract was exploited and drained: one transaction moved about 1.83 million USDC (some reports put the total near $1.92M). Payy paused deposits, withdrawals, transfers and card payments while it investigated. L2BEAT lists the network as halted and warns: do not deposit funds (L2BEAT).
What this means for you:
What Payy was: a private, stablecoin-native wallet where transfers were shielded with zero-knowledge proofs, money moved by sharing a Payy link, and a non-custodial Visa card (launched August 2025) spent USDC. It moved its rollup from Polygon to Ethereum in February 2026. It raised a $6M seed led by FirstMark Capital (Robot Ventures, DBA Crypto) and reported 100,000+ users. L2BEAT had also logged a critical circuit bug disclosed in June 2026 that the team patched.
What I learned: "non-custodial" protects you from the company, not from the contract. The privacy design that made Payy interesting also makes it harder to see who held what.
